Blind start in basis

Alfred Schreuder has made one change to his starting line-up for Wednesday’s Eredivisie match against Fortuna Sittard. Daley Blind starts at left-back, at the expense of Owen Wijndal. Otherwise, the same eleven names as against FC Utrecht start.

No Timber or Bassey

Jurriën Timber and Calvin Bassey are missing again due to injuries. Timber is recovering from a muscle injury, while Bassey has an ankle injury. Schreuder had previously indicated that he hopes to have Timber back for the Champions League match against Liverpool next week.

Ajax still top

Ajax are still top of the Eredivisie after winning 4-0 against FC Utrecht on Sunday. They are two points ahead of PSV, who won 3-0 against Excelsior on Saturday. Fortuna Sittard are eleventh in the table, with seven points from six matches.
