Big West Women's Volleyball Weekly Awards Announced

Player of the Week

UC Santa Barbara's Macall Peed has been impressive in the past week and has been named Big West Women's Volleyball player of the week.

Peed had an impressive 17 kills in a four-set victory over UC Irvine, and also added eight blocks including three solos, as well as a .655 hitting percentage.

With her solid play, she led the Gauchos to the victory which extended their winning streak to 11 matches.

Defensive Player of the Week

Hawai'i's libero Kennedy Tulimasealii has been named Defensive Player of the Week for the Big West.

Tulimasealii was a defensive stalwart for the Rainbow Wahine against CSUN, tallying 27 digs in a four-set match, and also collected 13 assists.

Freshman of the Week

UC Davis' outside hitter Namari Pono has been named Freshman of the Week for the Big West.

Pono has been solid for UC Davis, tallying 14 kills while hitting .250 over the course of three matches, helping the Aggies extend their win streak to six matches.
